She has many friends of both female and male sexes. She splits up with her football playing boyfriend and gets interested in a new student Stephan. He turns out to be a vampire of about 2000 years, drinks animals’ blood only and studies at college in order to look like the other people. Damon, Stephan’s brother, likes killing people and therefore physically much stronger.

Due to this fact, bullies the younger relative. Both brothers fell in love with girl of a similar type of character and appearance long ago.

Helena is the second person in their love races who reminds the beautiful predecessor. Damon interrupts with Elena and Stephan’s relations by means of almost everyday murders of city’s citizens.
