This is probably the wrong forum for this - and I am very sorry if it is. Just not sure where this should go. I was rather upset to find that Civ 5 doesn't have an ingame world builder like Civ4. I ain't gonna lie. In Civ4, I used the hell out of that worldbuilder.
Editing city and unit stats, and editing the terrain was one of my favorite things to do - futzing around usually. I tried out the SDK on steam and let's just say.I found it less than what I expected. (I would up seeing what features it had available on a new map. ) Debug mode is a disaster.
Does anyone know if Civ5 will ever have anything similiar to the old Civ4 ingame worldbuilder feature? I like Civ and all, but without the power to edit the world at my whim (And I swear, I hardly ever used to get an advantage over the AI's), I feel a little.ripped off. In terms of the original topic, the Fire Tuner allows you to do some (but not all) of what the Civ4 Worldbuilder could do with a running game. For instance from the Map tab you can add/delete units, cities, improvements and roads. The 'Selected City' tab lets you edit (your) cities, and the 'Selected Unit' tab lets you edit (your) units. The 'Lua Console' tab also lets you enter arbitrary Lua code so you can do quite a bit more.
It's also extensible and the functions of the buttons can be changed and new buttons or other controls can be added. It's not as easy to use as the Civ4 WorldBuilder and documentation is pretty much nonexistent but if you're willing to experiment you'll find it can do quite a bit already and I would expect that as people learn how to use it new features could be modded in.
